Hangar Debrief is published by Whiskey Victor LLC. This page says what we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to have it deleted.

What we collect

Your email address, to send you the newsletter.

A record of your consent: when you signed up and confirmed, which page or invitation you came from, and scrambled fingerprints of the internet address and browser used. We keep the fingerprints, not the internet address or the browser details themselves. This is our proof that you asked for the newsletter.

Opens and clicks: whether an issue was opened and which links were pressed, so we know what readers find useful and can report totals to sponsors.

Your answers to the three optional questions on your preferences page, if you give them.

What we do not do

We do not sell, rent or share your address. Sponsors see totals only, never who opened or clicked. We add nobody to this list who did not ask to be on it.

Who handles it for us

Cloudflare hosts this site and the subscriber list. Amazon Web Services delivers the email. Neither may use your address for anything else.

How long we keep it

For as long as you are subscribed. When you unsubscribe we stop mailing you at once and keep your record so the unsubscribe holds. When you delete your data we remove the record and your answers, detach your opens and clicks from you, and keep only a scrambled fingerprint of your address that cannot be turned back into it, so that we never mail it again.

How to leave or delete your data

Every issue has an unsubscribe link and a link to your preferences page, where one button deletes your data. Or write to support@hangardebrief.com and we will do it for you.
